Sociodemographic and Psychological Predictors of Intention to Receive a COVID-19 Vaccine in Elderly Peruvians

The implementation of a vaccine against COVID-19 is one the most important health strategies to mitigate spread disease. objective this study was estimate prevalence intention be vaccinated and its predictors in older Peruvian adults. This cross-sectional study, where information collected through an online survey regarding vaccination participants, as well sociodemographic psychological variables. A multiple regression analysis applied identify COVID-19. We evaluated 245 who had mean age 72.74 years old (SD = 6.66). 65.5% these adults expressed high likelihood accepting vaccination, while 20.9% low 13.6% were hesitant. Eleven identified that explained 66.69% vaccinate place residence, perceived contracting COVID-19, severity previous infection with fear disease, refusal vaccine, concerns about sales speculation, trust toward vaccines main predictors. Our results show confidence are relevant adults; findings may useful guide development campaigns for immunization vulnerable group current pandemic.
